Our Pastors

  • James Zik • Lead Pastor

James wants to live in a world where the Buffalo Bills finally win a Super Bowl, bbq, Chick-fil-A, hot wings, and ice cream (mint chocolate chip of course) are eaten everyday and are considered health foods. In 15 years of ministry, Pastor James has served churches in Kentucky, Texas, and now North Carolina in various capacities. He is married to Ashley and holds degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and the University of Kentucky. When he is not at the church equipping disciples-makers and working on administrative duties, you can find him cheering on the Tennessee Vols, reading a book, listening to music, or figuring out where to travel next. Before he lives forever with his Savior, James wants to do as much as he can to impact the world with the saving message of Jesus Christ!!

  • Jimmie Perryman • Associate Pastor

Jimmie wants to live in a world where McDonald’s senior coffee is always accessible, where his beloved Denver Broncos win another Super Bowl, and where eating a cheeseburger a day keeps the doctor away. Pastor Jimmie served his country for twenty two years in the U.S. Army, and another ten years for the Department of Defense and Homeland Security as a defense contractor. For the past 16 years he has served in several service and leadership roles at Beach Road Baptist Church; all helping to shape and mold him to now serve in his current capacity as Associate Pastor for Visitation and Senior Adults. Jimmie graduated from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary in 2014. He and his wife Sandy have been married for 52 years; have three sons, and nine grandchildren. When Jimmie is not visiting someone in the hospital or in their home, you can often find him on the golf course, or just relaxing at home with a good book. Pastor Jimmie’s main hope for the future is seeing all his grandchildren saved and walking with the Lord.

  • Matt Overcash • Interim Children's Ministry Leader

Matt wants to live in a world where his Georgia Bulldogs never lose to Alabama,  everyone is kind to each other and a sense of humor is required. Matt served in his home church in China Grove, NC for five years until he moved to Wilmington in 2004 to help with a church plant. There he served as a Youth Leader and Men's Pastor. Matt earned his Masters degree in Biblical Studies from the North Carolina College of Theology. He is married to Carysa and has two amazing boys, Ryder and Cooper. When he is not loving on families and molding children you can find him working out, coaching ball teams or fixing something. His hope and prayer is to see his boys grow up and make a huge impact on the kingdom of God.
